Terms and Conditions

Operator Identification

SnapsLapse is operated by Aleš Somol, Ph.D., Independent Entrepreneur (VAT CZ800218), with registered business address at Very Pankove 829/24, Olomouc, Czech Republic ("us", "we", or "our"). Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the SnapsLapse mobile application. By accessing or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SnapsLapse ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SnapsLapse is a minimalist temporary camera. Photos you capture are stored locally on your device and automatically deleted after an expiration you choose (2 hours, tomorrow 8 AM, 24 hours, or 1 week).

3. Account

To use the App you create an account with an email and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

4. License and App Versions

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the SnapsLapse application worldwide.

  • Free Version: The application is available for free with certain feature limitations or usage caps.
  • Premium Version: You can unlock the full, unrestricted features of the application via a one-time In-App Purchase.

5. In-App Purchases and Payments

  • One-Time Purchase: The Premium version is billed as a one-time payment. It is not a subscription, and you will not be charged recurring fees.
  • Payment Processing: All transactions and payments are handled exclusively by Apple Inc. via the App Store. We do not collect or store your billing or credit card information.
  • Refunds: All refund requests must be managed directly through Apple and are subject to Apple's App Store refund policies. We do not have the technical ability or authority to process refunds.

6. Intellectual Property

The SnapsLapse application, including its source code, design, logos, and original features, remains the exclusive property of the operator and is protected by copyright laws.

7. User Content

You retain full ownership of the photos you take. Because photos are stored only on your device, we do not access, view, or process their contents. You are solely responsible for the content you capture and for complying with applicable laws.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to capture or store content that is illegal, infringes on the rights of others, or violates any person's privacy. We may suspend or delete accounts that we reasonably believe are violating these terms.

9. Deletion and Data Loss

Photos are stored locally and are deleted automatically at expiration or manually by you. Uninstalling the App, clearing storage, or deleting your account will permanently erase all photos on that device. We cannot recover deleted photos.

10. "As Is" Warranty Disclaimer

The application is provided to you "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" with all faults and defects, without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. The App is provided without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that expiration timers will fire with millisecond accuracy in all conditions (e.g. when the device is off).

11. Limitation of Liability

SnapsLapse processes and stores all data exclusively on your local mobile device. We are not responsible for any loss of data, photos, or files, nor for any device damage or corruption caused by the use of the application, system crashes, or device failure. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your device.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnapsLapse and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
